Family Outing – Bowling

November 17th, 2009
Not happy after missing a strike

Ben 10 not happy after missing a strike

Not much you can do when it rains non stop.  You just got to skip all your usual outdoor activity, and stay at home???  No way I could do that.  So, I decided to take our family for a round of bowling game.

Our Bowling team

I’m not good at it. But, rather than staying home watching TV only, why not throw some balls.

When we got there, only 3 lanes out of 22 were free.  Looks like Kluang people love playing bowling.  I can’t remember when Kluang had their first bowling lanes.  One thing for sure, that first bowling lanes was at a shopping complex outside town area.  Now the same bowling lanes were relocated at a new shopping complex, that is the Kluang Prade after its first home was closed down.

I would not want to tell you the final scores of our games.  It was very bad.  One of our ball got stucked in that small  semi circular channel (Longkang) and can only be saved by the Bowling Centre’s attendant.  Well one of the reason for our ‘bad showing” is of course, this is only the second bowling game for us after the first one a year ago.  And, I would conclude….. bowling is definitely not our family game!

Kluang Motor Sport Day 2009

November 13th, 2009

The event was held at Kluang Mall from 7th to 8th Nov 2009.  Never in my life got to see a group of sporty cars showing their stuffs at Kluang.  So it was an opportunity not to be missed.

I was there on the First day around 1400hrs with my kids.  Since it’s about cars, so its guys only.

It was hot but the sound of sporty cars and the smelt of burning tyres kept us waiting for more thrills.

Here are some of the pics.  Enjoy it babe…not everybody could afford these cars!!!

Government Scraps Mandatory Inspection for Vehicles Aged More than 15 Years

November 7th, 2009

The Government finally has agreed to pull back the mandatory comprehensive inspection on vehicles aged 15 years or older.  This certainly is a goodnews for me as well as others 2.7 million car owners on the road with aged above 10 years.

I do not know exactly why the Government wants to have these cars inspected annually at Puspakom before the road tax can be renewed.  If it’s for reason that these old cars are no longer safe on the road, than I would disagreed.  The word safe is subjective when you are on the road.  Safe when you are on the road depends on not only the condition of your car but also the way and attitude of drivers in front and behind you.

Yes, some of these cars are not being maintained like the broken signal, heavy smoke, not working horn that are dangerous to other road users.   But it’s the responsibility of the authority to ensure these cars are not on the road.  They should do more check so that the owners will be more concern about condition of their cars.

Cars are becoming necessity for people in rural and town areas where public transportation is not to the standard.  But cars in Malyasia are expensive. So, if the government decided to scrap these old cars, than they needs to look into reducing the price of national cars as well as import taxes on foreign cars first.

The Government said,  People First, Performance Now!

LIVERPOOL – MY TEAM AND MY FRUSTRATION

November 6th, 2009

LIVERPOOLI’m a Liverpool fan since I was a kid.  Those days in the 80ties, Liverpool was a dominant team in England and Europe.  I would stay awake just to watch Liverpool on TV. Players like Rush, Dalglish, Barnes, Souness and Beardsly are among my all time favorite players.

Lately their performance is not to their standard.  They are 6th on the table with 9 points behind the league leader Chelsea.  Their last 8 games resulted in just 1 win, 1 draw and 6 losses in all competition.

LIVERPOOL_TABLE

I was hoping after demolishing MU 2-0 on 25th Oct they could start winning and climbing up the table.  But it did not happen.  Now from what I see, their title challenge is fading away and their Champion League’s campaign might be only at group level.  I still do believe that Liverpool will be among the top 4 teams by end of the season.

What Liverpool needs to do is to improve on the defense.  They have allowed 16 goals in 11 matches.  That’s about 1.5 goals allowed per game compared to Chelsea at 0.7 and MU at 1 and I think that’s too many for a team that eyeing for the league title.  Their defense was far better last season compared to this season.

Liverpool depends heavily on Gerrard and Torres.  If these two players did not play or did not play to their best, the team just seemed to loose their spirit.  The bad news for Liverpool fan now is that both of these keys players are in injured list.

For the last couple of seasons, Liverpool did get quality players to play for them.  Players like Stan Collymore,Craig Bellamy, Robbie Keane, Djibril Cisse, Jermaine Pennant are proven to be good players with their old clubs in the league.  Unfortunately, they could not play to their tag when with the Reds.  Liverpool just could not find the right combination for them.  The coaching staffs could not grow these players into a strong team.  And I think that is one of the reasons Liverpool failed to do in the 90s until now.

As a Liverpool fan, I would like to see some changes in the coaching staffs.  Coaching staffs that can blend good players into a good team.  A team which does not depends on certain players only.  Liverpool needs to get a fresh central defender to upgrade their defense.  This will take time but many Liverpool fan just can’t wait any longer to see their team winning the EPL.

Google Latitude – To Track your loved ones where about

November 2nd, 2009

This is a feature by Google that I think can be helpful for us to track our loved one.  With latitude on your mobile, you can see your friend’s locations on a  map.  You can check your kids if they are at school or not.  Yes, it’s also possible to locate your girlfriend where about at any time.

Before you can use this feature, you also need to share your location with them.  But, you can control the accuracy detail for each of your friends.  That is you can set the exact location or you can turn it off.  The best part of it is, you can also fool your friend by entering your location manually.

With Latitude also you can get direction to any location or to your friend’s location.  You can check their web at http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/latitude/intro.html

Thanks Mr J for introducing me to Latitude.
